Hyper Partisanship: Part Two

My philosophy professor at University of St. Thomas, Dr. M. Jean Kitchel used to admonish her students. She would instruct them to follow St. Thomas Aquinas maxim 'to beware the man of one book." The problem with Senator Cruz, Representative Crenshaw and other legislators of their ilk on both sides of the political spectrum only acknowledge the inherent value and worth of ideas and books that comport to their worldview. They refuse to accept the idea that books and ideas that do not conform to their views may also contain ideas, and principles worthy of examination and study.
