Historical Whitewashing and Excision

I do not agree with the decision to remove statues from the U.S Capitol. In The Life of Reason published in 1905 George Santayana argued that attempting to conceal or otherwise whitewash the evils done by society only serves to encourage the repetition of those evils. "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”–
